PR agency in the Czech Republic

Pocket PR is a remote PR team in Brno and Kyiv that runs Czech media relations for tech and industrial companies, from $390 a month with no annual contract.

We pitch Prague business and tech desks in English and time industrial news to the Brno fair weeks.

Desks that want Czech get a version from your own Czech-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve.

B2B buyers here often read sector titles before the national dailies, so both go on the list.

How much does a PR agency in the Czech Republic cost

Czech agencies publish prices more openly than most of Europe.

The e.vox list, valid from February 2025, sells 10 to 25 hours a month for 19,000 to 31,000 CZK.

CZPR prices its monthly packages by the size of the town or region it works for, from 5,000 to 80,000 CZK.

Before you sign an hours package, ask what happens to unused hours and how long the notice period runs.

How to pitch Czech journalists

Czech business reporters distrust hype.

The pitch that gets answered runs five or six sentences with one figure in it, and it says why this week.

The general rules sit in our guide to pitching journalists. These five habits are Czech.

  • Keep the Czech version formal. Our pitches go in English. If a desk needs Czech, your spokesperson or translator writes it with vykání, the formal "vy" used with anyone you have not met.
  • Lead with a Czech fact. Jobs in Ostrava count. So does a customer in Plzeň.
  • Understate. "Revolutionary" lowers trust. A plain figure and a named source do the work.
  • Offer a Czech speaker. A spokesperson who can talk on Czech Radio opens iROZHLAS and the regional stations.
  • Decide the order of outlets. If ČTK carries the story first, a daily may treat it as already published.

Is ČTK Protext enough for press release distribution

ČTK Protext is the paid release service of the national news agency.

It puts your text on the ČTK service and on partner portals, which is good for the record and for search.

It rarely produces a story on its own, so we treat it as a trace and pitch named reporters alongside it.

What Protext gives you

  • A findable record on the ČTK service and partner news portals.

What it does not do

  • Reporters see many Protext items a day and seldom write one up without a call.

How we use it

  • For listed companies and investor updates, with direct pitches sent the same morning.

Public relations in the Czech Republic for foreign companies

Foreign companies tend to arrive through Prague. Industrial buyers sit elsewhere, in Brno or Mladá Boleslav, and we follow the customers.

A translated global release with the country name swapped in gets filed and forgotten. These stories earn Czech coverage.

  • A new plant, or a research partnership with a Czech university
  • A contract with a known Czech firm that has approved being named
  • Hiring numbers in a specific region
  • Data about the Czech market that no one has published before

Brno as a PR base for tech and engineering

Brno is the second Czech innovation centre after Prague.

JIC, the South Moravian Innovation Centre, has supported Kiwi.com and Y Soft, and it is listed among the top 50 startup hubs in Europe.

The Brno Exhibition Centre hosts MSV and AMPER. Several times a year, buyers and trade reporters meet in the same halls.

We keep big news away from election weeks and the Christmas slowdown, when desks thin out.

How the Czech media plan runs from Brno

  1. Czech media list

We map the reporters who cover your field at HN or CzechCrunch and in the trade titles. Pitches go out in English. A Czech version comes from your own Czech-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve.

  2. Brno trade fair calendar

MSV and AMPER set the rhythm for industrial news. Your announcements and booth interviews are planned around those weeks, with the ČTK wire timed to match.

  3. Czech story for foreign desks

For Czech firms selling abroad, we turn a Brno result into English pitches for trade reporters in Germany or the US, who take English from international companies.

A Brno hardware startup closes its seed

A Brno hardware startup

Situation
A Brno startup from the JIC programme closes a seed round and ships its first units to a German carmaker supplier. It has no press contacts, and its Czech founder has never given an interview.
What we do
We would write the release in English and have the founders approve a Czech translation. The round goes first to CzechCrunch under embargo. E15 gets the German customer angle, and the founder gives interviews in Czech during MSV week in October.
Outcome
A sketch of how we would run it, not a past campaign. One piece of news yields a startup story for CzechCrunch and a supplier story for E15.

Questions

What foreign firms ask about Czech PR

How much does a PR agency in the Czech Republic cost?

The e.vox price list sells 10 to 25 hours a month for 19,000 to 31,000 CZK, with extra hours at 1,900 CZK. CZPR prices packages for towns and regions at 5,000 to 80,000 CZK a month. Enterie puts regular PR service in the Czech Republic at around €2,500 a month. Pocket PR starts from $390 a month.

Do Czech journalists accept pitches in English?

Business and tech reporters in Prague often read English and take English pitches from international companies. We pitch in English. Regional and broadcast desks want Czech, so for them a Czech version comes from your own native-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve. We tell you which desks need it before the pitch goes out.

Can a company force a Czech paper to correct a story?

For printed periodicals, the Press Act, Act No. 46 of 2000, gives a company whose name or reputation is touched by a factual claim the right to a published reply. The request goes to the publisher in writing with the proposed text, within 30 days of publication. The reply must stick to facts and match the scope of the original piece.

Can you work with companies based in Brno rather than Prague?

Yes. Our lead expert works in Brno. With JIC and the exhibition centre, the city is the country's second tech and engineering hub after Prague.

Which Czech outlets matter most for a foreign company entering the market?

Decision makers read Hospodářské noviny and E15. Tech buyers follow CzechCrunch. For the widest reach it is Seznam Zprávy, plus ČTK as the wire that feeds every newsroom.
