PR for Miami companies

Miami reads in two languages. In Miami-Dade 66.5% of residents speak Spanish at home, and Telemundo runs its national network from the city.

Pocket PR, a remote team in Kyiv and Brno, pitches Miami's business and tech press for fintech and startup founders in English, the language of the Herald business desk and Refresh Miami, and says upfront when a story needs a Spanish-speaking voice from your side.

What Miami business reporters write about

Fintech took the biggest share of South Florida venture money in 2025, $909 million.

Refresh Miami tracks nearly every round in the region, so its reporters have seen plenty of raises and a round on its own rarely gets a story.

A move to the city or a senior hire usually does.

  • Relocations with names, such as OpenEvidence moving to Miami in July 2025. Give the reporter the address and the number of jobs.
  • Finance moving south. Citadel and Citadel Securities announced in June 2022 that their global headquarters were leaving Chicago for Miami, and Citadel has since planned a tower on Brickell Bay Drive.
  • Latin America run from Miami. A regional expansion managed from Brickell suits the business desks and Bloomberg Linea at the same time.
  • Crypto and payments, with Consensus back in Miami Beach in May 2027.

Spanish-language desks and who should talk to them

el Nuevo Herald, Diario Las Americas, Telemundo and N+ Univision reach Spanish-speaking Miami.

Bloomberg Linea covers Latin American business in three languages, one of them English.

We pitch in English. Linea reads English, and many Spanish-language desks will take an English pitch from an international company. An interview on Telemundo is another matter. It needs your own Spanish-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve, and we raise that before the pitch goes out, not after a producer asks for a guest.

Each desk also wants something different. TV wants people and money in the viewer's pocket, while Linea wants regional market numbers.

What Miami PR firms charge

Everything PR's 2026 guide puts mid-market Miami retainers at $10,000 to $30,000 a month.

Specialty firms set project minimums from $5,000, and Clutch listings show hourly rates between $100 and $199.

None of these guides prices Spanish-language media relations separately, so ask what a quote covers before you sign.

Pitching Miami from a European afternoon

Miami runs six hours behind Brno, but the city calendar matters more than the clock.

  • English business desks read pitches at the start of their day, which is our early afternoon

  • Telemundo and N+ Univision run tight daily cycles, so a story for them has to reach the morning editorial meeting

  • Miami Art Week, 30 November to 6 December 2026, belongs to art and luxury news, and everything else waits

A payments startup opening a Brickell office

Situation
A European payments company moves its Americas team to Brickell and signs its first customer in Colombia.
What we do
We offer Miami Inno the office and hiring story and send Bloomberg Linea the Colombia deal with numbers, in English. If Linea wants a Spanish interview, the company's own Spanish-speaking head of the Americas team takes it. Refresh Miami gets a founder profile timed for eMerge Americas week.
Outcome
Startup coverage and regional business coverage, each with its own angle, instead of one translated release. Illustrative, not a client result.

How a Miami campaign runs from Europe

  1. English pitch, Spanish voice only when needed

We write and send the pitch in English to the Herald business desk, the Business Journal and Refresh Miami. When a story belongs on Telemundo or el Nuevo Herald, we tell you before pitching that it needs your own Spanish-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve.

  2. Latin America as the Miami angle

A company that sells into Latin America from Brickell gets framed as the bridge, which is the story Bloomberg Linea already follows.

  3. Clear of Art Week

Launches stay out of early December. Interviews get booked ahead of eMerge in March and Consensus in May, when tech and crypto reporters plan their weeks.

Questions

What Miami founders ask before hiring PR

How much does a Miami PR firm cost?

Everything PR puts mid-market Miami retainers at $10,000 to $30,000 a month, with project minimums from $5,000. Boutiques often quote less, and few publish rate cards.

Do I need Spanish-language PR in Miami?

For consumer stories and Latin American expansion it often helps, because el Nuevo Herald and Telemundo reach people the English desks miss. We pitch in English, so a Spanish interview needs your own Spanish-speaking spokesperson or a translator you approve.

Which Miami outlets cover startups?

Refresh Miami and Miami Inno at the South Florida Business Journal follow rounds most closely. The Herald business desk and Axios Miami pick up the bigger ones.

When is the worst time to pitch Miami media?

Miami Art Week in early December. Lifestyle and business desks both cover the fairs, so unrelated news gets buried.

Can a company outside Florida get Miami coverage?

Yes, if there is a local reason. A Miami office or Florida hires count. So does a Latin American expansion run from the city, or a founder who moved there.
